Elia Nurvista lives and works in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. She obtained her BFA from Indonesia Institute of Fine-Art (2010).
Elia’s work often involves other people as collaborators and/or participants. In last two years, she has become interested in exploring food and the issues that arise as a result of cooking and eating. Sometimes the issues are about political and historical and sometimes just about memories of someone we love.
Elia participated in Koganecho AiR, Japan (2012); and presented her project “Adiboga Wonoasri, an Experimental Kitchen and Pop-up Restaurant” in Kedai Kebun Forum, Yogyakarta, IND (2013); as well as participating in Jakarta Biennale, Jakarta, IND (2013).
