Verovcha (Peru) aims to conceive the body through tantric geometry, viewing it as a vehicle that transcends its own illusion of separateness. Her work seeks to find patterns that can figuratively reconnect us and inspire a sense of unity that dismantles the perceived boundaries between individual beings.
Colour is very important to her practice. She is the founder of Kutichi, a natural textiles project based in Cusco, where home-wear is crafted by traditional Quechua weavers. Through this project, she aims to become increasingly aware of how artisanal creation is only possible from a fertile, abundant, and common earth.
During her residency at Delfina Foundation, Verovcha will delve into a sort of lithic memory of body-earth and pose the question: when did we forget we are part of nature? Her interest lies in researching how the human body incarnates the landscape and how this integration could be rendered into a new body of work.
Verovcha was born in Lima, and is currently based in Urubamba, Peru.
