Rega Ayundya Putri (Indonesia) creates intuitive, speculative works rooted in drawing and child-like imagination. Influenced by sci-fi films and comics, her practice evolves between animation, installation, sound and collaborative performance. Often using discarded materials, she mutates fact into fiction, questioning reality and its absurdities.

During her residency, she plans to explore the influence of British music and its associated subculture in Bandung, examining whether this phenomenon is rooted in geography, colonial history, or power structures in the music industry. Rega is also interested in flipping the narrative: what if the “British sound” was originally from Bandung?

Rega has recently participated in residencies at Horanggasy Creative Studio, Gwangju, South Korea (2024); Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, Fukuoka, Japan (2024); Koganecho Area Management Center (KAMC); and Koganecho International Artist Network Program, Yokohama, Japan (2023). Selected group exhibitions include: Expressions of Hearts and Minds, National Gallery of Thailand, Bangkok, Thailand (2025); Songs of Sky and Earth, Artist Cafe Fukuoka, Fukuoka, Japan (2024); Voice Against Reason, Museum MACAN, Jakarta, Indonesia (2023); and Nobody Knows Their Story, Koganecho Area Management Center, Yokohama, Japan (2023). Her work has also featured in publications such as Ballpoint Art, Sandu Publishing, Hong Kong (2019).

Rega was born in Surabaya, Indonesia, and is currently based in Bandung, Indonesia.
