Radek Brousil (Czech Republic/Slovakia) often mixes objects, sculpture, fabric works, photography and video in his artistic practice. His focus, however, is based on a broader investigation of photography – namely, on its technical and artistic properties as well as its current usage and socio-economic implications.
During his residency Radek intends to do a research-based and collaborative work with which he would like to continue on a long term series he’s developing.
Radek holds MA in visual art from The Academy of Art, Architecture and Design in Prague (2009). He has worked in the Czech Republic and internationally. He spent one year at Concordia University in Montreal in the department of photography in the studio’s of Raymonde April and Evergon. He also spent a term at London College of Communications.
Radek is the winner of Oskar Čepan award from 2015 in Slovakia. He was nominated for Foam Paul Huf Award in 2015.
