Md Fazla Rabbi Fatiq (Bangladesh) is a photographer engaging with social, geographical, and political issues. His work seeks to blend a neoteric form with traditional documentary photography to create a constellation of visual language accompanied by the abstract, ambiguous, humorous and symbolic characteristics which will reach the viewer as a paired voice to arouse the questions of ‘what lies beneath the surface’.
During his residency at Delfina Foundation, Fatiq will work with photographs and archival material addressing Bangladesh’s colonial period.
In 2017, Fatiq completed his BSc in Multimedia and Creative Technology. While studying multimedia, he became acquainted with photography, which later made him more interested in this medium. He also completed his graduation in photography from Pathshala South Asian Media Institute, Bangladesh. His works have brought him a few accolades including British Journal of Photography Ones to Watch 2021, Grand Prize Winner of Vantage Point Sharjah 10, and Winner of Samdani Art Award 2023. His work has been exhibited at Dhaka Art Summit 2023, Chobimela International Festival of Photography 2021 (Dhaka, Bangladesh) , The Encounters of Young International Photography 2023 (Niort, France), Les Rencontres d’Arles 2023 (Arles, France).
