Maria Meinild (Denmark/Sweden) is an artist working primarily in video. Alongside her use of the moving-image, she create installations and objects both separate and in relation to the screen. In her works she combines methods from the worlds of film and theatre with investigations of the staging of everyday life, patterns of social behaviour, and our ideas of normality.

While at Delfina Foundation, Maria will be developing a new project using methods from puppet and object theatre to create a narrative around conditions of human interaction.

Maria holds an MFA from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and she has also studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Recent exhibitions include at the Kunsthalle Exnergasse in Vienna; Vermilion Sands in Copenhagen; Galleri CC in Malmö; Aarhus Kunsthal in Aarhus; Kunsthal Charlottenborg in Copenhagen; Künstlerhaus Halle für Kunst & Medien in Graz; New Jörg in Vienna and Galerie Les Territoires in Montreal.
