Aracha Cholitgul’s (Thailand) art practice is a mental study not limited to a particular subject—it’s a process where she tries to make sense of her surroundings. Her artworks carry a sense of intimacy and craftsmanship as she likes touching things with her hands and slowly developing a relationship with her work. She investigates personal stories through different mediums, including drawing, painting, writing, object/image making, and installation.

During their residency at the Delfina Foundation, Aracha will be developing her new project titled, ‘(On the Road) – notes on Transportation, Travel, and Trauma’. She aims to untangle personal histories intertwined in Thailand’s transportation system, travel stories, spiritual beliefs, and mental issues.

Aracha was born in Thailand and is currently based in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Aracha struggles with a sense of belonging and often finds herself in a place dominated by tourism. Her previous homes were Koh Phangan, Pattaya, and Bangkok.
