Anastasia Sosunova (Lithuania) combines video, installation, graphics and sculpture, to centre on the multifaceted connections between signs and faith in a secular society, exploring manifestations of magical thinking and the mobilisation of communities. She works with topics related to the coexistence of seemingly incompatible value systems, charting alternative forms of contemporary folklore.

During her time at Delfina Foundation, Anastasia intends to further her exploration of fandoms by using the residency to explore fan communities and cultural sites across the UK. Through engaging with active fan clubs and conventions in London and visiting fan pilgrimage sites that have inspired alternative narratives and ‘fanons,’ she aims to investigate how fandoms both reinforce and challenge hegemonic ideologies.

Anastasia graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts with a BA in Graphic Arts and an MA in Sculpture. Recent notable exhibitions include the 15th Gwangju Biennale (2024), 17th Lyon Biennale (2024), Palais de Tokyo (2024) and KADIST (2023). She has also presented solo and duo exhibitions at Kim? Contemporary Art Centre, Riga (2025); KOHTA Kunsthalle, Helsinki (2025); Contemporary Art Centre, Vilnius (2024); Galeria Arsenał, Białystok (2024); and Cell Project Space, London (2023).

Anastasia was born in Lithuania and is currently based there.
