Chloe Bensahel’s (US/France) work blends traditional textile techniques and contemporary technologies, addressing the notion of hybridity of forms, identities, and histories. Her works invite viewers into an embodied experience of language as it relates to place — one that is tactile, multisensory, and generative.
During her residency at Delfina Foundation, Chloe will focus on the history of botanical studies in the UK and its influence on the decorative arts, to develop a woven visual lexicon based on invasive plant species. She will focus on key thinkers like William Morris, whose craft homage to the botanical revealed a desire for a new social order.
Previous projects include collaborations with Google Arts and Culture Foundation (2019), The Cooper Hewitt Design Museum (2023); Weaving Hybridity at Palais de Tokyo, curated by Amandine Nana (2024); and Villa Albertine X Mobilier National at Design Miami (2023). She is also an affiliate researcher with the MIT Media Lab’s Future Sketches group and recently provided the scenography for Obsession at the Paris Philharmonic with La Tempête (2025).
Chloe was born in Bagnolet, France, and is based in Paris.
