Raquel Schwartz (Bolivia) is a multidisciplinary artist and curator whose work delves into themes of memory, identity, and transformation. As the founder of the RSV Foundation, she is deeply committed to nurturing creative expression and cultural dialogue.
Through pioneering initiatives like Kiosko Galería and Nube Gallery, Schwartz has created dynamic platforms for artistic experimentation and exchange. These spaces bridge local and global voices, fostering inclusion, innovation, and the development of emerging talent.
Whether via her own artistic practice or curatorial vision, Raquel is dedicated to building reflective, vibrant cultural communities that invite dialogue, challenge boundaries, and celebrate diverse perspectives.
Through this residency at Delfina Foundation, Raquel intends to deepen her practice as an artist by exploring themes she has not previously had the chance to engage with. She anticipates a period of focused work that will allow her to reconnect with the creative process in new and meaningful ways.
Additionally, Raquel will concentrate on the development of a forthcoming book, scheduled for publication next year; an important milestone in her career.
Schwartz is the founding director of Kiosko Galería (since 2006) and Nube Gallery, two influential spaces for contemporary art, residencies, and international collaboration. She has led KM0 workshops in 2001, 2005, 2014, and 2025, fostering artistic experimentation and regional collaboration. Raquel has participated in over 100 exhibitions across Latin America, the U.S., Europe, and Asia, including: São Paulo Biennial (XXV Biennial, 2002) — represented Bolivia with installation Carcél de ilusiones; Mercosur Biennial (5th edition, Porto Alegre, 2005) — presented Ilusión, an installation featuring a large-scale, pink fabric house ; Havana Biennale (IX Biennale, Cuba, 2006); Gwangju Biennale (V Gwangju Biennale, Korea, 2004); Bienal de Cuenca (Ecuador, 2007); Bienal del Fin del Mundo (Ushuaia, Argentina 2008); Bienal Internacional de Arte SIART,( La Paz, Bolivia 2011); Member of the Advisory Committee at CIFO (Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation) in Miami since 2011.
