What tools can aid us in reshaping and reimagining our own experiences and that of others?
Join our artist-in-residence Giana De Dier for an afternoon ‘collage club’ exploring the possibilities and hidden layers within a narrative and how we might reimagine and create new, speculative imagery around marginalised histories and lost lineages.
This informal ‘workshop’ will open with a short welcome and introduction from Giana, followed by prompts that will guide participants in creating their own collages; selecting images and textures to create compositions that can convey new meanings.
Workshop equipment and materials will be provided, however participants are welcome to bring their own materials and images/magazines. Refreshments provided.
Giana De Dier is an artist from Panama, whose practice centres on compiling photos and documents from archives to reimagine untold stories of Black women, focusing on migration and the experiences of Afro Caribbean women in early 20th century Panama.
BOOKINGS
If you would like to join this workshop please email events@delfinafoundation.com (subject line: Collage Club) to book. The event is free and open to all.
