Chance to experience the improvised music and art event at Parasol Unit on 02/02/13.
Shezad Dawood, New Dream Machine, 2012. Film still.
Parasol Unit, in association with Delfina Foundation, hosts a rare opportunity to witness an improvised music and art event based around Shezad Dawood’s interactive sculpture, New Dream Machine Project. Building on the contemporary legacies of Beat Culture and the Moroccan art, this live performance by PRAED invites the viewer to experience an immersive sensory environment of light and music. Reflecting a key theme in Dawood’s practise, this evening event will contribute a new layer of experience and meaning to a piece that is already located in a complex and shifting array of cultural references.
PRAED are an improvisational group of musicians spanning Beirut and Paris, who perform worldwide. They are former resident Raed Yassin and Paed Conca, who will perform for this event with Stéphane Rives and Sharif Sehnaoui. For more info about PRAED click here.
Availability for this event will be limited and places will be offered on a first come first served basis. A bar serving warm drinks will be available. This is an outdoor event so participants are encouraged to dress warmly.
Please note: this event will be filmed.
