From Sharjah Biennial 12 to Art Dubai


Over 30 current, former and forthcoming residents of Delfina Foundation are exhibiting works or participating events in the United Arab Emirates this month, including:

SHARJAH

Sharjah Biennial 12:  Eleven former residents participate:  Haegue Yang and Michael Joo from Delfina Studios Trust and Basel Abbas & Ruanne Abou-Rahme, Babak Afrassiabi & Nasrin Tabatabai, Rheim Alkadhi, Ayreen Anastas & Rene Gabri, Kristine Khouri and Asunción Molinos Gordo from Delfina Foundation

Barjeel Art Foundation:  Ziad Antar is part of this group exhibition from Sultan al Qassimi’s collection aide-mémoire: footnotes (Part II)

Maraya Art Centre:  Abbas Akhavan, Ammar Al Attar, Fayçal Baghriche, and Lantian Xie (forthcoming resident) participate in the group exhibition Accented curated by Murtaza Vali

ART DUBAI

A.i.R Dubai 2015:  our 5th collaborative residency programme in Dubai includes curator Lara Khaldi and six artists:  Mehraneh Atashi, Rheim Aladhi, Mohammed Ahmed Ibrahim, Jessica Mein, Hind Mezaina, and Sharmeen Syed.  In partnership with Art Dubai, The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority and Tashkeel.

Art Dubai Projects: A.i.R Dubai curator Lara Khaldi devises this programme of commissions around the fair including all six A.i.R Dubai residents, plus other artists:  Jumana Emil Abboud’s contribution stems from her current at Delfina Foundation while former resident curator Nida Ghouse is part of the collective Umashankar & The Earcheologists producing a project over the next two years. Their live audio essay will be presented at 4pm on Friday 20th March.

Art Bar by Absolut:  Yazan al Khalili has been commissioned to co-produce a large-scale bar installation.

Global Art Forum: Kristine Khouri, Manal al Dowayan and Lara Khaldi participate in various sessions.
