On show now at Delfina
As part of our current Politics of Food season, Nick Laessing‘s new edition of Plant Orbiter is currently on display in Delfina Foundation’s reception.
The auto-rotating hydroponic food production system seeks to test a theory by NASA that growing plants in anti-gravity conditions can increase plant growth and yield.
Planted during a public workshop at Delfina Foundation on Tuesday 4 May, the project engages with questions surrounding the future of urban food production and the role of technology in self-sufficiency.
The Plant Orbiter can be viewed at Delfina Foundation until 22 June, when it will be moved to the V&A for the Great Exhibition Road Festival.
