In advance of Delfina Foundation’s 2015 programme Performance as Process, we are proud to partner with the Czech Centre to host Between Gesture and Theatricality, an evening of presentations investigating contemporary performance practice in The Czech Republic.

Focusing on different aspects of performativity, curator Mariana Serranová will provide an engaging insight into the work of artists including Daniela Baráčková, Aleš Čermák,  Milena Dopitová, Eva Koťátková, Eva Jiřička, Jiří Kovanda, Sláva Sobotovičová, Mark Ther, Adam Vačkář,  Tomáš Uhnák and Martin Zet. There will also be a special performance by Martin Zet.

Mariana Serranova is an independent curator and art critic based in Prague. She has collaborated with several galleries and initiatives working in the field of contemporary art, including Centre for Contemporary Arts Prague, Prague Biennial and 4+4 Days in Motion Festival. Since 2012 Serranova has run an international visiting program CCP|CURATORS & CRITIC´PROGRAM. Currently she is working on a project at the Liverpool Biennial.

Martin Zet is excited by the opportunity to be present during this event. He will initiate a short participatory exercise. Guests are asked to bring along a wind instrument and earplugs. Breathe!  Zet requests you do not google him in advance.
