To conclude Echoes & Reverberations at the Hayward Gallery Project Space, Samah Hijawi presents The Wandering Singer of Tales, a lecture-performance that complements her work in the exhibition.

The Wandering Singer of Tales is a lecture-performance based around the life and career of a Palestinian singer called Layla. Located in the political and artistic histories of Palestine, The Wandering Singer of Tales will investigate trauma and exile and the mechanisms of memory through photography, painting and collage.

Echoes & Reverberations is a collaboration between Hayward GalleryDelfina FoundationMaraya Art Centre, Sharjah and Shubbak – A Window on Contemporary Arab Culture (11-26 July 2015) with additional support raised through A. M. Qattan Foundation and the Art Basel Crowdfunding Initiative on Kickstarter.
