Join current residents Noor Afshan Mirza and Brad Butler as they present work relating to their current research into conspiracy theories, paramilitary activity, trials and incidents that conspire to add to the contemporary mythology of the Deep State in Turkey and elsewhere.
For this discussion-based event, the audience are invited to join the artists in developing their thinking towards a new body of research, which centres on a specific political incident in 1990s Turkey. The process of imagining the fact, fiction and fabulation surrounding this event is a valuable part of the project, which broadly considers forms of the political imaginary.
A presentation by the artists will provide the basis for a shared and informal conversation that encourages the audience to contribute by responding to some of the questions posed by the research.
This event is part of The Public Domain: Season 2.
