Delfina Foundation appoints new Residency Curator

Delfina Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Viviana Checchia as Residency Curator.

Viviana joins the Delfina team on 17 January 2022 in the newly-created position to lead on the delivery of residencies and organisation’s public programme.

Viviana joins Delfina Foundation from HDK-Valand, University of Gothenburg where she was Senior Lecturer, focussing on ideas of publicness and the role of the artist in society. Previous to this she was Public Engagement Curator at the Centre for Contemporary Arts: Glasgow (CCA) and had worked on a wide range of international projects, including curating the Young Artist of the Year Award in Ramallah in 2014, and co-curating the 4th Athens Biennale in 2013, as well as having been a visiting lecturer at a number of international institutions. For the past ten years, Viviana has also co-directed ‘vessel’, a curatorial platform, based in Puglia, Italy, that operates internationally to facilitate critical discussion surrounding the cultural, social, economic and political change created through community-based work.
