ABOUT

Initiated in 2017, Collecting as Practice is a ground-breaking programme exploring the philosophy, psychology and politics of collecting, through exhibitions, events, and residencies.

To date the programme has investigated the ways in which collections are shaped, maintained and framed, alongside debate and interventions around issues of representation and restitution. Participating artists have also engaged in extensive research in  both public and private collections and archives.

COLLECTORS-IN-RESIDENCE

As part of Collecting as Practice, Delfina Foundation is unique in providing residencies for collectors. These one-week residencies take place a few times a year, during which the collector lives in the Delfina House alongside their fellow artists and curators in-residence, engaging with them in activities and discussions. You can find out more about our collectors-in-residence through the collectors-in-conversation video series.
