Tautvydas Urbelis (Lithuania) is a curator, (ex)philosopher and writer working in the fields of contemporary art, education, and speculative architecture. Focusing on intersectional modes of knowledge distribution, transdisciplinary exchange and unruly fictioning, Tautvydas explores the poetics and tensions of an increasingly complex world.
During his residency at Delfina Foundation, Tautvydas is firstly keen to know the institution itself and his fellow residents, given that the strategic development of art institutions, alongside various philosophical and poetics pondering, is one of his key interests. He will also be using the time to connect with people, institutions and initiatives in London and the UK, which he has come across over the course of his research and previous projects and wishes to engage with.
Tautvydas is a curator of Alternative Education and Public Programmes at Rupert (Vilnius, Lithuania), an editor of Regeneration [and its Discontents] (Architecture Fund, 2021), and leads the research project Architecture of Lust. Tautvydas has curated events for and in collaboration with Architecture Fund, Contemporary Art Centre, EXPO Chicago, Future Architecture, Kaunas Architecture Festival, London Architecture Festival, Architecture of Shame, International Kaunas Film Festival and others.
Tautvydas is born and base in Lithuania, Vilnius.
