Shadin AlBulaihed (Saudia Arabia) has been working for the past two years as an assistant curator with SAC, a nonprofit organisation that supports the local art scene in the Kingdom. In this role she works closely with emerging and established artists to produce commissioned artworks in accordance with curatorial vision of the organisation’s guest curators. She also helps develop educational programmes, which include talks, workshops, and outreach programs centred around the curatorial topic.
During her residency at Delfina Foundation, Shadin intends to research the possibilities of commissioning contemporary artworks that respond to heritage sites and buildings.
Shadin holds a BA in Architecture from the School of Design and Architecture, Dar Al-Hekma University, Jeddah (2017), and an MA in Museum & Gallery Studies, Kingston University, London (2020). She was Assistant Curator for the 8th edition of 21,39 Jeddah Arts, curated by Fabien Danesi (2021) and the 9th edition, curated by Venetia Porter (2022).
