Mohit Shelare (India) makes work that expands through the event of contamination and conceptualisation with several unconnected events and belief systems. He makes drawings, objects, sound, text, and forms lecture performance settings where conversations take place.
During his residency at Delfina Foundation, Mohit will be dwelling with everyday tech of cleaning robotics, stardust, and anti-caste philosophy.
Mohit Shelare holds an MFA from Shiv Nadar University, Uttar Pradesh, India (2017), a BFA from Sir. J. J. School of Art, Mumbai, India (2014), and a Foundation in Art from Shivaji Chitrkala Mahavidyalaya, Amravati, India (2008). Mohit has shown work at Ashkal Alwan, Lebanon; FICA, Delhi; Kunst(Zeug)Haus, Switzerland; CAMP studio, Bombay; and Kochi Student Biennale, Kerala. He has received grants and awards from Inlaks Foundation and Fine Art Award, India (2023); Prince Claus Seed award, Netherlands (2022); Regional Art Assembly, Australia (2021); Generator Experimenter, Kolkata (2020); IFA, Bengaluru (2021); and Five Million Incidents, India (2019).
Mohit was born and is based in India.
