Mar Solis (Spain) was born in Madrid in 1967, and has a degree in Fine Art specialising in Sculpture from the Complutense University of Madrid (1995). In 1999, she participated in the Second Workshop of Sculpture, given by Martín Chirino at the Fundación Marcelino Botin of Santander.

Mar’s sculptures are made of various materials such as wood, metal and paper. They have been exhibited in private and public permanent collections, both indoors and outdoors, among which are: Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno (IVAM), City of Madrid (Madrid), Ministry of Environment, Tiflologico Museum (Madrid ), Fundación Jiménez Alberto Alonso de Arellano, Palacio de Santa Cruz, Valladolid, among others. Her public work can find parks and public spaces in Spain, Lapland and South Korea and among many private collections, museums, and public agencies.

Mar’s residency took place in Damascus, Syria.
