Dillwyn Smith (UK) focus is on the energy, sensitivity and dialogue in the human being. His most recent exhibition The Art of Intention was installed in a living space in Bethnal Green, London; it incorporated paintings, film, bespoke clothes, kirlian drawings and incorporated Intention a choreographed work made with dancer Noel Wallace and performed there. The dance piece was subsequently performed at Wilton’s Music Hall.
Dillwyn studied painting at Canterbury College of Art and then at the Royal College of Art where he gained an M.A (1986), his graduation show won the prestigious Barclays Award. Subsequently he has had many solo exhibitions in the UK and abroad. In 2006 he embarked on a collaboration with Nelsons Homeopathic company inspired by the energy in colour.
In 2007 he received The Bryan Robertson Trust Award. In the same year he was instrumental in supporting the establishment of Delfina Foundation. In April 2008 he co-produced, and collaborated in La Tierra de Nadie a visual response to the Alhambra Palace, Granada, for Delfina Foundation at the invitation of the Hay Festival.
Dillwyn has also, for many years, been a visiting artist and lecturer at the National Gallery, London.
