To coincide with Jean-Paul Kelly‘s exhibition at Delfina Foundation, That ends that matter, Delfina Foundation and LUX curate an evening of films, in partnership with Canada House.

Whether working with video, photographs or drawings, the work of artist Jean-Paul Kelly explores the relationship between materiality and perception. In his ongoing investigation of documentary imagery and its claims to truth, Kelly poses questions about the limits of representation by examining complex associations between found photographs, videos, and sounds from documentaries, photojournalism, and online media streams.

This programme, co-curated by Kelly and Maria Palacios Cruz, Deputy Director of LUX, proposes a dialogue between four of his videos and a highly personal selection including work by Canadian filmmakers Norman McLaren, Arthur Lipsett, Lorraine Dufour and Robert Morin, and friends such as Steve Reinke, James Richards and Mary Helena Clark. The programme runs for 90 minutes.

A version of this programme was originally presented at the Courtisane Festival in Ghent, Belgium.

If you are planning on attending this event, please be aware that Canada House requires all attendees to bring photo ID.
