The Founder
For the last 40 years, Delfina Entrecanales has created spaces for artists and other visionaries to share and debate their ideas and working practices, most notably at Delfina Studio Trust, which she founded in 1988.

Until its closure in 2006, Delfina Studio Trust was the UK's largest international artists residency space, nurturing a new generation of highly acclaimed artists, including more than a dozen Turner Prize nominees - including Mark Wallinger, Shirazeh Houshiary, Tomoko Takahashi, Keith Tyson, Glenn Brown, Anya Gallacio, Mark Titchner, Martin Creed - an unparalleled record for any arts residency space in Britain.

Delfina has always been interested in artists, as individuals, and as agents of change. For this reason, she has been described as a sort of 'international mother' of the arts. Now at the age of 81, perhaps she can be described as an 'art grandmother'.
