Selection process

In keeping with our focus areas, The Delfina Foundation selects artists, writers and curators for its residency programme in three ways:

  • Direct invitation from the Board of Trustees (with partner organisations, in the case of joint residencies)
  • Solicited proposals from liked-minded institutions, artist networks, organisations, and foundations
  • Open calls for applications

We do not have a rolling applications programme. Current and upcoming opportunities are posted in the News section of our website and application forms are made available during the period for these solicited applications.  Unsolicited proposals will not be considered.

Please note that the open call process is very competitive and there is no fixed number of places per year. Due to the volume of inquiries we are unable to respond to requests for information about the open call.
